New Recipe: Black Pepper Chicken Stir Fry

My roomie/bestie and I have been talking about switching up our meal options for the longest. Since being refined to our own kitchen during COVID-19, we finally decided to add some new meals to the mix.

Black Pepper Chicken Stir Fry

If you hop on Pinterest for a recipe you'll find a few variations of this meal. We kept it pretty simple this time.


  • chicken breasts

  • veggie stir fry mix

  • broccoli

  • rice

  • oil

  • soy sauce

  • black pepper

  • garlic powder

This meal took about 20 - 35 minutes to make. We used a veggie stir fry mix of peppers and onions instead of cutting them, so if you plan to cut your veggies yourself your total meal time may be a little longer.

First, we chopped our chicken breasts into small chunks and marinated that in soy sauce for 10 minutes.

After marinating, we cooked the chicken in a skillet with oil. Let the chicken cook and begin cooking the broccoli.

We seasoned the chicken with pepper and onion powder, and added our stir fry mix when the chicken was almost done cooking.

We added the broccoli when it was done, and poured the remaining of our soy sauce on top and allowed the stir fry to cook for another 5 - 10 minutes.

We also added rice to our meal, serving the stir fry on top of it. Without the rice, this would be a tasty low calorie meal.

The soy sauce marinade made the chicken very tender. I don't think it would have hurt to add a few more seasonings to the chicken but overall I had no problem with the taste.

I've been craving some chicken stir fry for the longest and I was more than satisfied with ours.

Will I be making this meal again in the future? Absolutely!
